Al Fattan Ship Industry’s latest project is a 13.5m long interceptor craft, whose hull and deck were manufactured from moulded composite materials to provide a corrosion-free structure. The composite structure is made of E-Glass woven reinforcements and Corecell structural foam consolidated in a Polyester resin matrix. The craft achieves a top speed of over 120km/h. The UAE-based shipyard also announced a 15m long fast patrol boat that was designed to serve the UAE Coast Guard in their efforts of protecting coastal waters.
The Need for Low-Speed Stabilisation
Quantum Marine Stabilizers introduces its MAGLift low-speed rotary stabilisers for use by patrol vessels. The company’s new approach includes a system that delivers roll stabilisation at relatively low vessel speeds (3.18kts) based upon vessel specifications. It additionally offers an increased performance envelope of the vessel for helicopter operations and the deployment of RIBs, UAVs, and ROVs. MAGLift is designed to provide maximum energy transfer in terms of lift force based on the “Magnus Effect”.
