Displayed for the first time at IDEF, SOM-J Missile System Design Studies Are Being Carried Out Successfully
The SOM-J Missile is displayed for the first time at IDEF 2015. The system design studies are carried out successfully in accordance with the schedule. The teaming cooperation between Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control extends further to provide a cutting-edge system. Following the Preliminary Design Review in September 2015, the subsystem design and tests will take place in November 2015.
Flight tests of SOM-J expected to begin in 2nd quarter of 2017 from the F-16 Block-40 of Turkish Air Force and the development expected to be completed in 2018.
JSF Integration studies consist of three phases: Phase-I (Feasibility Study) and Phase-IIA (Risk Reduction Phase) have already been completed. Phase-IIB studies will start in June 2015. 3rd and final phase is Integration Phase.
