The DiSTI Corporation, a worldwide leading provider of graphical user interface development software, announces the release of GL Studio 5.1, the industry leading high-fidelity user interface development toolkit. The newly launched UI development environment features customisable workflows that deliver ease of use for User Interface Designers while preserving the performance, flexibility, and safety that Software Programmers rely on. The GL Studio environment now enhances collaboration between these two development roles enabling a seamless, intuitive, and efficient user interface production pipeline.
GL Studio 5.1 gives UI Designers more control during the development stage with new project specific workflows. The customizable project workflows, created by the Software Development team, facilitate UI development compliance with the target system. This new version also offers designers a simplified importing process with support for drag-and-drop art assets into the GL Studio Designer. GL Studio instantly creates project specific user interface elements based on the file type. The designer workflow and runtime maintain awareness of any art asset manipulations made after importing the content. If GL Studio senses source file changes, the user interface assets update while preserving all post-import manipulations dramatically reducing the impact of art changes. UI Designers can also instantly preview and test UI functionality using any modern web browser with a one-click publishing step to WebGL.
GL Studio 5.1 enables Software Programmers to create custom controls and objects for the GL Studio Designer with project specific scripts. The Programmer’s customized controls and objects extend the out-of-the-box functionality of GL Studio allowing them to be in control of their project workflow. Once configured by the Software Development team, UI Designers use these objects and controls in a code-free manner to produce the hardware-ready user interfaces. Developers will also benefit from one-click publishing to their target hardware via the project specific scripts which significantly reduces design iteration cycles.
“Our new customizable workflow is a revolutionary UI development capability that clearly shows why GL Studio is the clear choice for producing high-fidelity displays,” Joe Swinski, President of The DiSTI Corporation, explained. “Our primary objective is to supply a fast, easy, and flexible user interface development environment, and GL Studio 5.1 delivers.”
Over 4,000 end users and 700 customers worldwide, including Boeing, Calsonic Kansei, Continental, ESG, Jaguar Land Rover, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, NASA, Nissan, Raytheon, TATA, Thales, and Virgin Galactic, use DiSTI solutions to build safety critical and non-safety critical embedded HMI displays, maintenance trainers, create PC and Internet-based courseware and simulators. As a full service provider, DiSTI offers a complement of customer programming and development services, and is a recognised leader in training solutions for the global simulation and training community.
