MT was told at Dyneema's booth at MILIPOL 2015 that it entered into a teaming
agreement with Bluecher aimed at using Dyneema's new Black
Dyneema fibre for its undergarment. Sander Bartmann, Dyneema's Marketing
Communications Manager, said the company was starting deliveries of its fibres
to Bluecher to manufacture the high-performance underwear for use mainly by
military personnel. Described as, "the strongest fibre," it has only
been available in its natural white colour; if the fibre is required to be used
in an application requiring colour, it needed to be post-treated. Now,
according to the company, Black Dyneema is "permanently coloured
throughout its cross-section". An important fact is that the new fibre
will maintain its colour for the lifetime of its use.
