I/ITSEC 2015: Elbit Systems Presents New Technological Capabilities

Elbit Systems presents a wide range of training and simulation technologies and innovative solutions on booth 2000 with a wide array of innovative solutions and demonstrations of some of the company’s latest developments.

Elbit Systems' Live Combat Training System (LCTS)  is a live training system providing true-to-life battlefield conditions and a high-fidelity replication of weapons and tactical engagements. Designed to provide the utmost in realistic battlefield training, the system combines innovative technologies and software resulting in an authentic combat arena environment. (Photos: Elbit Systems)

Elbit Systems is focusing in different areas from its extensive air, land and naval training and simulation product lines and will demonstrate some of its systems, including:

  • Mission training centers - SkyBreaker  and ground forces mission training center
  • Live Combat Training System- LCTS
  • Live Air training systems- ACMI (autonomous air combat maneuvering instrumentation) and EVA (embedded virtual avionics)
  • Cyber trainer

Elbit Systems' CyberShield National Cyber Defense (NCD) training system is designed to simulate real operational networks, where trainees confront a full spectrum of known threats. Simulation and training are cornerstones for any nation or organization seeking to stand up a credible cyber defence system. CyberShield  includes a training management component to record and assess all training activity and a traffic generator engine, to simulate legitimate and malicious activity on the network. Fully scalable and modular in design, the training management system can integrate third-party applications and hardware such as switches, routes, servers, stations and firewalls used in real operational networks.

The following systems and products are presented in the company’s booth:

  • SkyBreaker - Unlimited Access to the Sky - is a networked multi-cockpit, mission oriented training center supporting a wide range of aircraft types. The system provides realistic simulated battlefield training using all aircraft systems and mission scenarios to enhance all levels of pilot training. The SkyBreaker facility houses a complex networked system designed to provide an entire squadron with the tools to practice modern air combat using SkyScen, a sophisticated computer generated forces (CGF) solution, in a fully integrated military setting.
  • LCTS - Live Combat Training System-  is a live training system providing true-to-life battlefield conditions and a high-fidelity replication of weapons and tactical engagements. Designed to provide the utmost in realistic battlefield training, the system combines innovative technologies and software resulting in an authentic combat arena environment.
  • Embedded Virtual Avionics (EVA) for trainer aircraft, can be installed on basic or advanced trainer aircraft, transforming the aircraft into a virtual advanced fighter while maintaining the hourly training costs of a trainer. The EVA virtual avionics suite is designed to shorten the training gap which exists today between trainer and modern fighter aircraft. EVA is manufactured in a minimal integration configuration, thus reducing aircraft integration costs virtually to zero.
  • EHUD - is a “rangeless” and fully autonomous air combat maneuvering instrumentation (AACMI) system. Featuring advanced instrumentation and debriefing capabilities, the system supports an optimum utilisation of flight hours and other valuable resources. EHUD’s unique combination of advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground combat training includes features such as real-time kill notification and removal, real-time electronic warfare and weapons delivery simulation, and no-drop weapon scoring. The system supports an unlimited number of live participants networked through Elbit Systems’ patented data link protocol.
  • Land Forces Training Systems - Elbit Systems’ Platforms and Weapon Operators product line offers a wide range of proven solutions for the training of formations, crews, commanders, gunners and drivers. Suitable for a variety of platforms and weapons, the land forces training systems are deployed worldwide, and include embedded, independent and appended tank crew trainers, driving simulators and infantry gunner training systems.
  • Tactical and HQ Training for the modern fighting force - Elbit Systems’ tactical and collective team training systems incorporate the knowledge and experience required to enhance and maintain the quality of a modern fighting force. Combining cutting-edge tactical battlefield simulation with actual command, control and communication (C3) systems, Elbit Systems’ advanced Command and Staff Trainer (CST), Tactical Battle Group Training System (TBT) and Forward Observer Trainer (FOT) adapt to a wide range of combat scenarios including High-Intensity Conflict (HIC), Low-Intensity Conflict (LIC), counter-terror operations, Operations Other Than War (OOTW) and Homeland Security (HLS) - all within the full range of  operational environments.
  • Cyber Trainer - CyberShield National Cyber Defense (NCD) training system is designed to simulate real operational networks, where trainees confront a full spectrum of known threats.
