For the first time in the US, Textron Marine & Land Systems (TMLS) is displaying the Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle (TAPV) that won the Canadian competition for 500+ vehicles in June 2012.
Shown alongside TMLS newly named COMMANDO family of vehicles at AUSA booth #7643, visitors are able to see the striking differences between the newly engineered TAPV, part of TMLS' COMMANDO ELITE series of vehicles, and the tried and true M1117 Armored Security Vehicle (ASV), which is part of the COMMANDO Advanced line. Visitors are also able to see two variants of TMLS' COMMANDO SELECT vehicles, which are being built for the Afghanistan National Army and fielded as the Mobile Strike Force Vehicle. Further, TMLS will again have their vehicle for the MECV programme on hand as that competition heats back up.
TMLS is seeing strong interest in its vehicles, including several contracts this year; and continues to grow its end-to-end vehicle fielding, training, maintenance and logistics support.
